Liquid Metering Systems: Positive Displacement
Positive Displacement meters (PD Flow Meters) are common used in custody transfer applications. Like turbine meters they are worldwide accepted and recognised for use in custody transfer applications no matter whether we are talking about oval wheel meter, bi-rotor or other types of PD-meters.
PD meters are normally used in application with a high viscosity (>10 cP), in areas without power (remote platforms, dessert or swamp areas), plants where limited space is available (PD meters don’t need up or down stream length) and for relative small capacities and line sizes (<8”).
