Liquid Metering Systems: Coriolis / Mass
The use of Coriolis Mass Flow meters (CMF) in custody transfer metering systems did start in Western Europe around the Middle Nineties. Since this period the use of CMF's in fiscal metering applications have been adopted rapidly in many other applications around the World. This development has also increased by the availability on the market of large size (>6") CMF's the recent Years.
The advantages of Coriolis Mass Flowmeters (CMF’s) compared to traditional meters such as turbine meters and Positive Displacement meters are obvious:
- CMF's are measuring direct mass flow;
- No pressure & temperature or density compensation is necessary;
- CMF’s are flow profile undependable, no inlet section or outlet section necessary;
- Compact metering skid design possible;
- Etc..
ODS has a leading position in integrating CMF's in custody transfer metering systems for on- and offshore projects. Whether using small or large size meters (12") meters, low or high pressures (up to 200 bar) and low (<-150°C) or high temperatures (>400°C) ODS has done it before.
We can advise you about specific installation requirements, regarding calibration considerations, control system functionality and on many other CMF’s related details.
